World ring championships come to Cork City.

Our cousins in sport the game of rings will be holding the 3rd, World ring board championships at the Commons Inn Hotel on the weekend of the 17th, and 18th, of October 2009.
Over the course of the weekend there will be twelve world titles to be won and I am sure with the talent that is playing here in this City of ours a World title in one grade or the other will come our way.
Some of our very best darts players were, or still are quite good rings players as well.
Over the years we had Matt O'Sullivan who was a rings individual champion as well as a City individual champion in darts.
John Buckley was a very accomplished rings player, so was Steve Burdock, the late Mick Betson and many others who graced both sports, even today Martin Cotter has proven to be a dab hand on the ring board along with Steven O'Connor and Damian O'Driscoll and Liam Guiney.
